It’s good to be humble

Standard

Aim: To teach the children that they have to be humble to recognize the Soberany and Majesty of God.

A certain sinful woman came to meet the Lord Jesus and “As she stood behind him at his feet weeping , she began to wet His feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. Luke 7:38

Who can kiss the feet of another person? In the past it was normal for the subdits to kiss the king’s hand and ring as sigh of submission. Today the man kisses the hand of a woman as the sign of love. But feet? Who kisses somebody else’s feet?

The act of kissing feet is a extreme measure of humility and humbleness. The person who does that shows respect in a whole other level. That woman was showing to Jesus that He was everything for her, without Him, she was nothing, and she honored Him by pouring the expensive perfume on his feet.

People use perfume on different parts of their bodies but not on the feet. It shows how much she respected and adored the Lord Jesus. It showed also that she had faith in him and believed Him.

And Jesus forgave her sins cause she was sinful and blessed her saving her soul. All because she was humble before Him. When we are humble we attract the Eyes of God to ourselves. And He blesses us and answers our preyers.

“Your sins are forgiven”

“Your faith as saved you, go in peace.

  • Question- Why do we have to be humble?

  • Answer- To recognize that the will of God is more important than mine and without Him, I am nothing.

Let the children know that at the last week of November they will give their testimony of how good is to be humble and how did God bless them and answered their preyers.

Activity: Tick with the “right” sign on what shows humility and “X” on what shows pride.
