Daniel 1:17 “As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom…”
God blessed Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah also known as Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, giving them a special gift: the gift of Knowledge. When we have the skill to learn we grow in wisdom and knowledge. We learn to keep everything good that we are taught and to exclude the wrong things. We absorb the teachings in school and learn to elaborate and develop even more the lessons.
We learn to follow the good examples and roll models in our lives and discard the bad ones.
But why did the Lord God give the skills to the 4 young men?
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Prov 9:10”
Daniel and his friends feared God with all their hearts and minds. They Obeyed His word and followed His commandments. So, let’s fear God!
